Assistant Under Secretary-General for Training & Educational Development
Samuel Pereira Neves is a Brazilian who found himself in Lebanon seven years ago and made his way into Freshman Science at the Lebanese American Universities. Sam, as he is mainly known, is currently a sophomore in Applied Physics and joined that major in the hopes of learning more about how the world works. From a very young age, Sam was always interested in discovering the ins and outs of the things around him. In his junior high school year (Grade 11) Sam had the opportunity to participate in the 12th GC LAU Model United Nations program and be awarded the position paper award. The program and his trainer that year left a huge mark in his life and improved his social skills, public speaking, leadership skills and confidence. Afterwards, in his freshman year of college, Samuel decided to become a trainer in the hopes of influencing students the way his life was influenced. When it comes to extracurricular activities Sam enjoys television shows and movies, but he also does sports and is a member of the LAU varsity volleyball team. Samuel is honored to be serving as Assistant Under Secretary-General for Training and Educational Development in the 15th GCLAUMUN.
