Assistant Under Secretary-General for Training & Educational Development
Pia Chouaifaty is a sophomore at the Lebanese American University majoring in Bioinformatics and minoring in Animation. Her journey with the program began in 2013 as a delegate in the 3rd LAU Model United Nations Middle School Conference during which she won a Diplomacy Award. As a high school student, she participated in the 9th LAU Model United Nations High School Conference, winning a Diplomacy Award, as well as in the 5th LAU Model Arab League Conference, winning a Best Delegate Award.
In her final high school year, she was an advisor to her high school’s Model United Nations team. She got an internship at the United Nations Development Programme’s Special Project with the Ministry of Economy where she worked during her gap year. As a university student, Pia was a trainer in the 14th GC LAU Model United Nations Program and served as director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) at the Global Classrooms International Model United Nations Conference in New York. Outside of the program, Pia is a member of the Computer Science Club and Scouts de l’independence, having previously served as Assistante Cheftaine de Troupe. This year, Pia is honored to be serving as Assistant Under Secretary-General for Training and Educational Development in the 15th GCLAUMUN.
