Assistant Under Secretary-General for Training & Educational Development
Michel Bassil is a 2nd year business marketing student at LAU’s Byblos campus. He is extremely passionate about the simulation programs; he has been a delegate in 4 conferences since 2017. He’s racked up two awards so far, the most diplomatic delegate award in the 2018 LEBMUN and the Best Delegate Award in the 6th High school LAU Model Arab League. The scholarship from the latter award was an instrumental factor in allowing him to join LAU on a full scholarship. He’s worked about 10 part-time jobs in several industries so far, and has completed two internships with Bank Audi’s Rabieh branch and Bank of Beirut’s retail department. In the summer of 2019, he was one of 5 Lebanese students to be picked to go on a fully funded 5 week program to the U.S to learn about religious pluralism and cultural diversity. Moreover, he has attended several workshops held by the UNDP in collaboration with INJAZ, and he plans to attend more in the upcoming year. You can also always find him at university workshops trying to improve his personal skills or learn something new. He is also part of the LAU Captains Junior varsity football team. He tries his best to manage between studies, work, sports, and simulation programs. He is extremely excited to be part of the 15th GC LAU MUN Senior Secretariat Board as Assistant Under Secretary-General for the Training and Educational Development Team, and hopes to ensure it is an enjoyable year for all.
