Assistant Under Secretary-General for Training & Educational Development
Houssein Malla is a senior Political Science/International Affairs student at LAU with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. He first participated in LAU simulations programs as a High School delegate in the 10thGC LAU Model United Nations and the 4thLAU Model Arab League Conferences, where he won a Diplomacy award, and was later chosen to be part of the Delegation to represent LAU at the Global Outreach and Leadership development conference in New York. As a staffer, Houssein started his journey as a High School Volunteer in the Logistics and Operations Team of both the 5thLAU Model Arab League and the 11thGC LAU Model United Nations. Upon joining LAU, Houssein served as a trainer in both the 12thGC LAU Model United Nations and 1stModel European Union in his first year, and in the 13thLAU MUN and 2ndLAU MEU in his second. Aside from the simulation models, Houssein assumed many leadership positions in NGOs notably “Beirutiyat” where he served as a Volunteer Coordinator and “MAK Volunteering Unit” where he served as the Director of Training. He hopes to one day become a Diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants. Houssein in humbled to serve the 14th& 9thGC LAU MUN as Assistant Under-Secretary General for Training and Educational Development.
