Anthony Arif is an Economics student at LAU also minoring in Political Science. He has been part of LAU MUN since he was 15 years old, starting as an award winning delegate at the 9th GCLAUMUN. He then joined LAU and has since trained more than 250 students from all over Lebanon between LAUMUN and LAUMEU, developing several Background Guides as a member of the Educational Development Teams, and chairing multiple local conferences. He also garnered international Chairing experience by participating in the 2019 Global Classrooms International High School Conference held in New York where he served as Chair of the World Trade Organization. He also competed in the 2019 Harvard WorldMUN Conference held in Madrid, Spain, as a delegate, where he won the highest honours in The Economic and Financial Committee. More academically, he took part in an Exchange Program during Spring of 2019, representing LAU at SciencesPo Paris, France. He has interned and worked at several private and public institutions, most notably The Ministry of Economy and Trade and the Lebanese Central Bank. In his private life he is an avid reader and spends most of his time doing so, mainly Classical Literature and Philosophy. He is a fervent lover of culture and history, but also a huge football fan. He enjoys listening to metal and classical music mainly Beethoven. Anthony is exhilarated to have been given the opportunity to lead the most prestigious Simulation Program in Lebanon, as Secretary General of LAU Model United Nations 2019-2020.
